India bans TikTok

Following border clashes with China that left 20 Indian soldiers dead, the Indian government on Monday ordered the banning of 59 Chinese apps to be blocked, including TikTok, WeChat, Shareit and Clash of Kings.

Reddit bans major political subreddits

Reddit has banned r/The_Donald, its biggest community devoted to US president Donald Trump, as part of an overhaul of its hate speech policies. Reddit said it was also banning around 2,000 other communities from across the political spectrum, including one devoted to the leftist podcasting group "Chapo Trap House."

All non-essential shops will close from Tuesday, which health secretary Matt Hancock said would be enforced by law this week. Schools will close from Thursday and will not reopen until next term.
